Truly a game of the week and a Victory with 1.7 seconds on the shoot clock left by ''Elks''. For the ''Wolves'' it was a first game against ''Elks'' and they tried to do Everything to win against team that plays at Basketball Ireland National League. The game started with fast plays by ''Elks'' but ''Wolves'' managed to do more under the basket with them big man Simonas Bastakys scoring easy points. But during the game it was easy to notice that ''Elks'' player have better pace and stamina while ''Wolves'' just were ''out of air'' trying to ''catch'' number 5 & 9.
The whole game were very close except the moment when ''Wolves'' ran in front by 10 points but just for the short time. With 1.7 seconds left the score were 83-83 but with stupid mistake on defense ''Wolves'' let ''Elks'' player number ''9'' score easy lay up and win the game !!

Match Report : Division 1 Men v BC Wolves
Our Division 1 men played BC Wolves on Thursday evening at MCB.
The teams came into the games with very different records - Belfast Phoenix being 2 & 4 whilst the Cookstown club had lost only 1 of their 6 games to-date.
The game started well for the young Belfast Phoenix team - with Mark Walsh and Domhnall Morris scoring well - giving their team a 20-18 Q1 lead.
Coach Conor Henry won't be happy with the lads' Q2 performance - when their offence went cold whilst the defence allowed 7 different Wolves players to throw up 24 points (v 12) in the 10 minutes.
The 32-42 HT deficit against a physically stronger team looked like an onerous scoreline to overcome - as it proved in H2.
Our men steadied the ship in Q3 - finding the basket more often (helped by a couple of threes from Mark Walsh) and Connor and Maks coming in and working very well at both ends. Emmet and Domhnall also got to the free-throw line on a number of occasions as they drove for the basket.
Going into Q4 the score was 52-62 and the lads gave it a very good go to try again to narrow the margin - but the experience of the Wolves side showed up well - with R Bartkus and M Meliunas in particular guiding their team home to a 8 point victory (81-89).

A long journey for ''Wolves'' to Derry to play against last years one of the top teams in BNI ''North Star''. But this year is different for the ''Stars'', team lost a lot of main players from the last season and are struggling at the bottom of the ''Premier league'' table with only one win against ''Bisons''. So it was hard to get ''Wolves'' players motivated and the first 20 minutes of the game were probably worst this season with only 29 points going in to a basket and ''Stars'' in front by one Point. After the Half time ''Wolves'' understood that there is no time for jokes and with more aggression on the offense they managed to win this game by 19 points.... A true disappointment by ''Wolves'' coach about players attitude ... The only bright memory about the game is ''North Star'' youth players, a lot of nice plays were played and a great new generation of basketball players are coming.

A victory that put ''Wolves'' at the top of the Table!!
''Wolves'' hosted very young and very good team from Omagh who were on 7-0 winning streak till they came to play against our boys.
The game were close from the start to the end with ''Wolves'' struggling to defend ''Thunder'' main player C.McKinney. But ''Wolves'' had more power under the basket and were driving in for the easy lay ups !
This Victory puts ''Wolves'' in the first place and if they win last game against ''Titans'' they will win the first round of ''DIvision-1'' before the split !!!
