Mixed Results week for all Wolves Teams

Week started with bad news for ''Wolves Classic'' ( 2nd team) because of the flu going in our area, only seven players went to play against young and very well organised ''TIgers III'' squad in DIvision-1 competition. The game started with full court press against ''Wolves'' but for the first half we managed to keep the score close and ended first 20 minutes with score 30-27. But after halftime the tiredness kicked in - '' Tigers'' had a great run and outscored our squad by 12 points ( 30-18). The last 10 minutes started with 15pt deficit, but our men didn't gave up and had a great comeback to the game by winning last 10 minutes score 29-20. But Overall the game was lost by 6. Still a great game and show of character!! E.Genevicius with 26 was the best in the Team.

On Tuesday '' Mid Ulster Wolves'' (3rd team) went to play against one of the best teams in DIvision-1. Queens Eagles'' from Belfast. The game started with ''queens' controlling the game pace and for the end of the first half the score was 33-22 to Queens. After half time the game changed and ''Wolves'' went to play more mature basketball and it gave a chance to take over the game, and it was done in the most spectacular way - Winning 3pt shoot from backboard with siren going loud. Darijus Semaska scored the winner and the game ended 61-60 to Wolves''. Z.Sadauskas ended the game with team high17pt.

For Saturday Division-1 ''Wolves Classic'' hosted ''Tigers II' squad and took an easy win by score 99-53. All players even with few missing played well and left a mark in this Victory. Now only one game left this to play against ''North Star'' next weekend.

The long waited NICC Cup started this week. With notification given just 4 days prior the game is self it was hard to get the full squad to be available to travel long distance to Oldleighin on Saturday evening. No matter what we still managed to get 7 men to go. The game from the start were tough and with questionable call by refs our team MVP A.Czuprak had to leave the game in 12th minute of it. So with only six men left on the court we knew that now it will be even more hard to reach the result we wished. In the 2nd quarter opponents went in front by 8 but our sharp shooter Z.Sadauskas showed what he is capable for and scored 4x3pt in a row. The game till the end were always tight but because of tiredness and low substitutions we began to do to many turnovers (25 in total) and because of lack of height we couldn't get rebounds and got another chances. We still had an chance to win but our shoots went off and with some strange decisions by the referees we lost the game by 1pt. We are so proud of the men that found time and went such a long distance and played the game !!!
