BC Wolves Off-Season: A Summer of Growth, Learning, and Memories

While the basketball season may pause, the Wolves never stop moving. This past summer has been a whirlwind of camps, international trips, new experiences, and inspiring moments that have brought our players, coaches, and community closer together. Here’s a look back at what has been an unforgettable off-season for BC Wolves.

🏀 Hard 2 Guard Summer Camp – Cleveland Meets Coleraine

In July, we kicked off summer with something special: the Hard 2 Guard Basketball Camp at North Coast College, Coleraine. Led by Coach Steve Thompson from Baldwin Wallace College, Cleveland, Ohio, the three-day camp was a golden opportunity for players aged 8–15 to sharpen their skills under the guidance of U.S. college staff. From drills and skill development to competitions and prizes, our young Wolves not only grew as athletes but also made friendships that will last long beyond the summer.

🌍 Wolves Abroad – Poland Tour 2025

July also saw our players take to the court in Poland for two thrilling friendly games against Twarde Pierniki Junior, 3x3 Tournament. More than just basketball, it was about cultural exchange, team bonding, and creating memories together. Judging by the smiles (and slam dunks!) in the photos, this trip will be one our players never forget.

Coaching in Lithuania – Learning from the Best

August brought an incredible opportunity for our coaching staff, who traveled to Lithuania to both compete and learn. The trip began with a friendly game against Jonava’s U-18 team before continuing in Vilnius with the prestigious International Coaching Seminars. Our coaches listened and learned from basketball greats such as Rimas Kurtinaitis, Tomas Pačėsas, Ergin Ataman, Mantas Šernius, and Lina Brazdeikytė, among others. They returned to Northern Ireland full of fresh ideas, eager to pass their knowledge to our players.

🌱 Summer End Camp – A New Generation of Coaches

As the summer drew to a close, we celebrated with our Summer End Camp, a week filled with hard work, fun, and new beginnings. It was particularly special to see Aidenas Paskauskas and Erik Zadoroznyj stepping into coaching roles, taking on responsibilities with energy and passion. Watching young leaders rise within our Wolves family is exactly what our club is about — growth both on and off the court.

♿ Wheelchair Wolves – Season Three Begins

September marked a proud milestone as our Wheelchair Basketball team officially tipped off their third season in the Northern Ireland Wheelchair League. The determination, teamwork, and passion shown by our players is inspiring to everyone at the club. Each game is another step forward in our mission to make basketball accessible for all, and we can’t wait to see how the team continues to grow this season.

Looking Ahead

From Coleraine to Poland, from Lithuania to Mid Ulster, the Wolves have had a summer full of experiences that will shape the future of our club. Camps, competitions, friendships, and opportunities to learn from some of the best in the basketball world — this off-season has been proof that our journey is about more than just the games we play.

With the new season ahead, we’re ready to take everything we’ve learned and bring it to the court. One team, one family — We Are Wolves. 🐺💙
