The 2022-2023 Season started better than expected with Senior teams from both, ''Premier & Division-1'' leagues winning all the games and ''Bc Wolves'' staying at the top of the Premier League table with 7 out of 7 wins.
The last two games were played against last years finalist ''Ballymena BC'' & ''Tyrone Towers'' - who were promoted to the Premier league after winning the ''Division-1'' previous year.
Journey to Ballymena were much anticipated as a hard game since both clubs have a history of playing each other in the crucial and league winner decider games since the first year ''Wolves'' were established in 2015.
This game was no exception from the start. With ''Wolves'' still trying to adjust rotation with new members at the club to set a good motion in offence. Until this is achieved, the coaching staff set to start all the plays from a hard defense to push the ''Ballymena BC'' out of the comfort zone.
The first half ended with ''Wolves'' up front by only 4 points, and two big men: R.Bartkus and V.Kazlauskas sitting out with 4 personal fouls.
Just at the start of second half, R.Bartkus got his 5th foul and his game ended with 6 points in his pocket. After this, it might have looked that with V.Kazlauskas having 4 fouls ''Wolves'' will have trouble under the basket, but players like Z.Radzevicius and N.Kersis stepped up in the defense, locking up best players from ''Ballymena'' and making them frustrate which led in mistakes trough the offense, but at our end, D.Stewart, E.Saulytis and E.Genevicius started to put on a show in scoring lineups and putting ''Wolves'' ahead of ''Ballymena''. The game ended in an unexpected result with our side taking a huge win 86-65.
Eidmantas Saulytis - 19 Points.
Daniel Takalua - 15 Points.
Ernestas Genevičius - 13 Points.
Vidmantas Kazlauskas - 13 Points
Žygis Radz - 7 Points.
Rolandas Bartkus - 6 Points.
Nerijus Kersis - 6 Points.
End of The mid season game were played in Local derby at Donaghmore against ''Tyrone Towers''.
While ''Towers'' joined the Premier league after being promoted from ''Division-1'', ''Wolves'' knew, that the experience the ''Towers'' players have is huge.
For this game ''Wolves'' had to play without 5 main players that went away due holiday season so the chances were given to our youth players who played mainly in ''Division-1'' league in the past. Again ''Wolves'' started with hard work on defense and completely locked the ''Towers'' while letting to score only 29 points in first 3 quarters while on the other hand ''Wolves'' offense worked as a team mechanism with every player scoring the basket.
The Final result 46-73 - ''Wolves'' with the Win.
Rolandas Bartkus - 13 Points.
Adam Czuprak - 12 Points.
Osvaldas Genevicius - 12 Points.
Ernestas Genevicius - 11 Points.
Our Junior section squads also managed to finish the year with a high note! U-16's with 6 win a row against guests from Belfast, that putted them on the top the league, and big congratulations to our youngest U-14's squad with the first win in the league against ''Phoenix BC''. This shows that the club is moving to the right direction in terms of development not just as a team sport but also strong individuals.
For the end, we would like to wish a Happy New Year and we hope everyone had a lovely Christmas break!
