Premier & U-16's showing character!

A great week of Basketball for the ''Wolves'' basketball club. The week started with ''Mid Ulster Wolves'' Division-1 squad traveling to Belfast to play against ''UUT-4''. As the first game in Cookstown between these two teams was tight, we were waiting for the same competitive game in Belfast too. But just from the first minutes ''Wolves'' started to push forward with grabbing the control of the game to their hands. Amazing shooting by E.Genevicius and Z.Sadauskas left no chance for the opponents to even think about the victory. The game ended with final score 78-95 to ''Wolves''. An honorable mention, E.Genevicius repeated ''Wolves'' Record of scoring 41 points per game!

The Premier squad had a middle table opponent ''UUT-1'' traveling to Cookstown. This time ''Wolves'' had no intention to fool around and just dominated the court, with a 42 points difference between the teams during the third quarter. Everything that ''Wolves'' were doing in offense and defense was working 100% and the consistency of the players helped to get the win they needed. with the Record 9/1 ''Wolves'' need to win two out of 4 games that are left this season and the first title of the season will be in their hands. So the chase is on!

Top Scorers.

E.Genevicius - 31 Points. S.Villalva - 15 Points. Z.Sadauskas - 14 Points. E.Saulytis - 13 Points. R.Bartkus - 11 Points. V.Kazlauskas - 10 Points.

Our U-16's had a busy weekend with hosting guests from Drogheda this Saturday and then playing their second game against the same team at their home court. The first game on Saturday showed that our ''Wolves'' squad is lacking some experience and luck to finish plays that usually we would have no issues to do, but luck was not on our side and we had to take the second loss of the Season by Final score 63:58. So after this loss, ''Wolves'' had only 24 hours to regroup and try to get the Rematch to keep the hope to win the title. And the changes by the Coach L.Lapukas gave the results, ''Wolves'' youth brought some fighting and dedication on the court and with the final three pointer during the last seconds took the much needed win by Final Score 63-61!A great achievement by our youth against one of the biggest clubs in Ireland - Drogheda.
